Notes

For every piece that comes into our lab we document your reported functional problems and any physical defects. Then we undergo a physical and technical evaluation of your component(s) in our lab to determine the cause of failure. Once completed, we'll send you a quote for parts and labor based on what is found for you to review. No further action is taken without your approval. Should you find that the cost to repair is higher than expected, we charge just $125 to cover part of the average of 90 minutes on the bench this process takes.

1 - Evaluation Phase

Once the quote is approved, OEM or better parts are ordered and any additional troubleshooting commences where required. In many cases there may be underlying problems that may not be obvious until the new parts are replaced.

For a “real world” analogy; you bring your car into the mechanic for shock absorbers, only to find out the tie rod ends on the front suspension are worn.

2 - Restoration & Service

During the component's service and evaluation, audio testing can average 3 to 5 hours. In the past, we have placed serviced components in our demo room playing music in the store for up to a week. We do this at no additional charge to ensure we have found and corrected reported intermittent problems.

3 - Strenuous Testing

Our unique vintage audio component service & restoration process

Our work

Testing | Tech Hifi

When a piece comes in, our goal is to make it perform and sound as close to the original as physically possible.

Our guidelines are based upon original factory service documentation. To put it simply; we do not rush service, make assumptions, or unnecessarily replace parts in mass quantities.

Why "Restored as Original" (RAO) matters

At Tech Hifi, all replacement parts and labor performed are backed by our 90 Day Performance Warranty.

'...your circuits dead and there's something wrong'

No worries! We can repair and restore to give "life" back to your vintage audio components.
